Land trust to host farm succession seminar
- Published: August 17, 2014
The Tecumseh Land Trust in conjunction with Nationwide Insurance is hosting a free seminar for all land owners that are interested in learning how to best preserve the land and farm they cherish. The Farm Succession Planning Seminar is from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at the John Bryan Community Center, 100 Dayton Street, in Yellow Springs.
The event is free, with a dinner provided by McCoy’s Catering. Please RSVP by Thursday, August 21 by calling 937-372-8059 ext. 5
This valuable seminar will help educate landowners on what information they will need to know to guarantee that their land becomes part of their legacy, according to the Tecumseh Land Trust. The Tecumseh Land Trust is Ohio’s premier farmland preservation group and they are partnering with Nationwide Insurance, the country’s largest farm insurer, to provide resources that will allow the entire family to better understand succession planning. Over 70% of family farms do not make it to the next generation, according to the Ohio Farm Bureau, a trend that the seminar hopes to curtail.
