Put your coloring skills to work for the YS Arts Council
- Published: March 31, 2015
The YS Arts Council Gallery, located at 111 Corry Street, is looking to give its building exterior a makeover. Rather than decide on the new design behind closed doors, however, the YSAC is giving villagers a chance to offer up their own ideas. The community is invited to take a specially-designed coloring page and get to work on a custom design in any medium, and as designs are submitted, they’ll be hung in the YSAC Gallery’s multi-purpose room for review and comment by gallery visitors.
Designs may be submitted until April 18, after which three will be chosen. These will be posted to the YSAC Facebook page on April 19, after which villagers will be able to vote on their favorites. The winner will be announced on April 26, and will receive two tickets to the September Art House Hop, two tickets to an Arts Alive! event of their choice and a YSAC T-shirt.
The YSAC will choose the final design for the building’s exterior based on a number of submissions.
To get a coloring page, visit the YSAC Gallery, or click here to download a printable .pdf. Finished pages may be returned to the gallery during open gallery hours, Wednesday–Sunday, 1–4 p.m. (the gallery will be closed April 13–17). They may also be scanned and emailed to ysartscouncil@gmail.com. Submissions should be signed, and hard copies should have the artist’s contact information written on the back in pencil.
