The YS Resilience Network has established a local chapter of Green Drinks, an international network of environmentally-minded people who meet for drinks and discussion. The local Green Drinks chapter will meet on Wednesday, June 24, 6–8 p.m. for a tour of a straw bale home and a passive house. The builders of the homes, Andy Holyoke and Alex Melamed, will be on hand for discussion. Following the tours, the group will head to the YS Brewery for drinks and networking.
Those interested in attending are asked to meet in the parking lot of the YS Brewery no later than 6 p.m. Tour guides will be Karen Windrow of the YS Chamber of Commerce and Brian Housh of Village Council. The YS Brewery will donate $1 from each beer sale to the YS Resilience Network, a local group dedicated to taking local action on climate change.
