Villagers gather at Strawberry Fest for treats and tunes
- Published: June 11, 2016
The lawn and sidewalk in front of the First Presbyterian Church were packed on Friday, June 10, with folks attending the Village Night of the annual Strawberry Festival. Along with strawberries, cake and ice cream, villagers enjoyed good conversation (only occasionally interrupted by children playing rounds of hide-and-seek under tables and chairs), fine weather and the occasional glint of a lightning bug, all to the sounds of the YS Community Band. Click below to hear a short excerpt from the band’s closing number, the score from the film “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
The Strawberry Festival continues today, June 11, during Street Fair, from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. — or until the strawberries run out.
