Community potluck to celebrate Antioch College Founders’ Day

A community potluck to bring together residents of Yellow Springs and the surrounding area with students, faculty and staff is being held on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 5–8:30 p.m. at Antioch College. Guests are asked to bring a dish to share. Antioch College will also provide dishes prepared by the Antioch Kitchens and basic beverages.
After time to gather at 5 p.m., the potluck dinner will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m. A program featuring remarks by College President Tom Manley; a keynote address by Dr. Jim Malarkey, “The Dazzling Vision and Relentless Passion of the Founders;” and a student-led trivia game will begin at 6 p.m. Dancing, with music curated by a student DJ, will follow the program.
Founders’ Day festivities will be held on campus on the “horseshoe” at One Morgan Place and Livermore Street; inclement weather location will be in the Wellness Center, South Gym.
The event revives a longstanding tradition of celebrating the college’s founding in 1850 with a gathering of the wider community as a sign of integration and appreciation.
