Wheels of fortune

On Sunday, May 5, at the edge of Antioch College, the Yellow Springs First Annual Pagan Blessing Of The Bikes took place. Some 30 bicycles and motorcycles participated. The event was fun and a bit tongue-in-cheek, but the Pagan rites were serious business. Gary Coy emceed the event, and Pan Reich fulfilled his “high priest” role very convincingly. The bikes formed a circle and Pan went around blessing every one of them. His prayers were tailored to every vehicle. PetNet, bikers’ groups and service organizations were present. —Carlos Landaburu
