Holiday Art Jumble to return
- Published: November 14, 2019
The annual Holiday Art Jumble, sponsored by the YS Arts Council, will return to the village Nov. 16–Dec. 29. The sale, which is a fundraiser for the YS Arts Council, features donated items with “fascinating, lovable, crafty or arty” qualities, including handmade crafts. The sale’s regular hours are Wednesday–Sunday, 1–4 p.m.; the sale will feature extended hours, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Dec. 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22 and 23.
YS Arts Council members are invited to enjoy the “First Dibs Members Sale and Party” on Friday, Nov. 15, 6–9 p.m. The event will include tea, cookies and live music by Mary Beth Burkholder.
This year’s Holiday Art Jumble will also feature a “Holiday Photo Op” on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 16 and 17, 1–4 p.m. The community is invited to try on vintage hats and post in front of a holiday background scene. Photos are $10 for as many family members or friends as can fit in the photo; professional photographer Angela Smith will take the photos, which will then be emailed to guests.
Donations to the sale will continue to be accepted during open hours. The Holiday Art Jumble does not accept donations of used toys, clothing, kitchen appliances or books — unless, according to a press release, “the item is just plain screaming ‘This is ART!’”
