The coronavirus pandemic has, for the time being, put a moratorium on in-person games. Roberta Kate Holderman Allen, age 75, of Shelton, Conn., passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020.

After a full and wonderfully healthy life, Sylvia passed away peacefully on May 7, after suffering a stroke.

Yellow Springs Board of Education Special Meeting

Local restaurateur Dan Young, of Young’s Jersey Dairy, who was tapped to help draft the new health and safety guidelines for restaurants, spoke with the News last week.

Last Thursday, Ohio restaurants and bars got the go-ahead from Gov. Mike DeWine to resume outdoor dining on Friday, May 15. Indoor dining is permitted to restart the following week, on Thursday, May 21.

Child care centers, day camps, campgrounds, gyms and fitness centers, pools and certain sports leagues were among the upcoming reopenings announced on May 14.
