Yellow Springs New Year’s Eve Ball Drop canceled

The Village of Yellow Springs’ New Year’s Eve Ball Drop, typically held downtown each year, has been canceled.

In a statement released Monday, Dec. 27, Village officials cited the recent uptick in COVID-19 cases — including a record high set on Dec. 26 — as the primary reason for the cancellation.

“It’s the responsible thing to do,” Village Manager Josué Salmerón told the News.
