Annual Solstice Poetry Reading set
- Published: December 5, 2023
Now in its 12th year, the Solstice Poetry Reading, presented by Tecumseh Land Trust, or TLT, and Glen Helen, will be Friday, Dec. 8, 7–9 p.m., at the Glen’s Vernet Ecology Center, 405 Corry St.
Invited poets will read original nature-related works inspired by the theme “Grounded.” A wine and cheese reception will follow the reading, and the evening will conclude with an open-mic session.
The event is free, but a donation of $10 is suggested to benefit both organizations. Poetry books, including TLT’s “Solstice Poetry Anthology,” will be for sale.
Tecumseh Land Trust and Glen Helen Association are nonprofit organizations and are supported by memberships. TLT’s mission is to protect local farmland, water resources and natural areas forever. The mission of the Glen Helen Association is to steward and strengthen Glen Helen Nature Preserve for present and future generations; safeguard the ecological, historical and geological resources within its bounds; and utilize the preserve to offer environmental learning to students and visitors.
