The Yellow Springs Martin Luther King Jr. Day observance will take place Monday, Jan. 15, on what would have been the assassinated civil rights leader’s 95th birthday.

Richard Edward Schwab, age 92, of Burnet, Texas, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023.

Marilynn Birch, age 102, of Yellow Springs, Ohio, passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023, at Friends Community Care Center.

Ronald Zachary Fenton passed away Dec. 11, 2023, in Miami Valley Hospital South, from complications due to pneumonia and cardiac arrest, after a year and a half of failing health.

On Dec. 7, 2023, Billie Kaythern Kussman passed away at Evergreen Nursing Home in Alamosa, Colorado. Her husband and daughter sat bedside.
