With near perfect running weather, the Yellow Springs High School and McKinney Middle School cross-country teams performed admirably at the annual Fairborn Skyhawk Invitational on Wednesday, Aug. 30.

Carolyn Louise Bradford peacefully passed away at 81 years young after battling lung cancer that was diagnosed earlier this year.

Jasiah H. Zinger-Mitchell, 21, of Yellow Springs, passed away Sept. 19, 2023, in Yellow Springs.

Two local residents, Beth Rubin and Catherine Roma, have been named to this year’s roster of inductees to the Greene County Women’s Hall of Fame, or GCWHF. Since its establishment in 1981, the GCWHF has aimed to honor women living and working in Greene County.

Martin Stromberg, 70, of Yellow Springs, passed away peacefully on Sept. 11, 2023, in Dayton, Ohio. He was born on April 17, 1953, to the late Fredrick and Marie (Wood) Stomberg in Broadstairs, England.

Chamber Music in Yellow Springs, or CMYS, will mark its 40th anniversary this season, which opens Sunday, Sept. 24. Established in 1983, CMYS was founded by a handful of devoted classical music lovers.

The Yellow Springs sunflower field planted each year by Sharon and David Neuhardt just north of the village, at 4627 U.S. 68, is anticipated to be in full bloom beginning Friday, Sept. 22, and lasting through at least the next weekend.
