  • Baseball alumni to play

    The YSHS baseball team invites all current and past players to participate in the annual alumni game on Friday, May 21. The gathering will begin with a potluck at 6:30 p.m., and those planning to attend should bring a dish to share.

  • Bulldog Sports Round-up

    On Tuesday, May 4, the YSHS boys track team finished fifth out of ten teams at the Shawnee Invitational. Shawnee won the meet. Mario Cosey had first-place finishes in the 100 (11.25) and 200 (23.22) dashes. Will Rippley was second in the high jump and long jump. Logan Norris-Sayres was second in the 200 dash.

  • Girls play baseball, too

    Two sisters, Alex and Adrianne Beer, are playing baseball for Yellow Springs High School this season. Alex, a junior, and Adrianne, a freshman, are taking the field for the Bulldogs because there was not enough student interest to form a softball team. The girls would rather play softball, but enjoy playing baseball because they are happy to be playing anything at all.

  • Bulldogs fall to Middletown Christian

    The Middletown Christian Eagles bats were too much for the hometown Yellow Springs Bulldogs to overcome Tuesday, April 12, at Gaunt Park. The Eagles left the village with a 15–1 victory.

  • Bulldog Sports Round-up

    Competing in blustery, rain-swept conditions, the Bulldogs boys track team put forth a solid effort at the London tri-meet on Tuesday, April 21, to come in second with 59 points. London won the meet with 93 points, and Fairbanks took third with 15.5.

    The Bulldog boys track team won the Metro Buckeye Conference meet at Troy Christian on Friday, May 16, by an overwhelming margin over the seven other teams. Yellow Springs had 169 points, well ahead of Dayton Christian’s 113, and host Troy Christian’s 105.

    Rain hampered much of the Bulldog baseball team’s late-season games last week, but allowed Yellow Springs a 7–6 win against Troy Christian on Monday, May 5, to make up for a 5–0 loss to the same team the preceding Thursday, May 1.

    The Yellow Springs High School baseball team will host its annual alumni game on Monday, May 12, at 6 p.m. at Gaunt Park.

    Yellow Springs High School’s co-ed tennis team won all three matches last week, flattening Cedarville 5–0 on Wednesday, April 16, beating Waynesville 3–2 the following day, and finally knocking out Northridge 4–1 on Monday, April 21.

    The YSHS baseball squad picked up two wins in two tries last week. Other games were rained out. Against Jefferson on Tuesday, April 8, the Bulldogs piled up 27 runs on just 9 hits as the Jefferson pitchers walked or hit 21 batters.
