    It’s been a number of years since visual artist Laura Carpenter left Yellow Springs. A part of her remains here in spirit, though, and a current exhibit of Carpenter’s artwork at the Glen House Inn Bed and Breakfast is “very specific to Ohio.”

  • Wheels in FMC fundraiser

    Despite both growing up in Yellow Springs, local teens Sam Salazar and Rory Papania never really met. But after attending Friends Music Camp together, they started picking a ukulele and guitar in front of Tom’s Market and the bluegrass-folk band Wheels was born.

  • Wheels to play Friends Music Camp benefit

    Imagine settling in for a movie, sipping a glass of red wine with malted milk balls, a chilled white wine with a butter bar, a beer with a tub of popcorn,  or, on special occasions, a signature cocktail.

  • Klingers’ pottery, paintings at Springs Gallery

    James and Christine Klinger will show their pottery and paintings at a Springs Gallery exhibit that opens this Friday with a reception from 6-9 p.m. during the Third Friday Fling. The exhibit runs until Feb. 16.

  • Strong Heart Press offers holiday workshop

    Local artist and printmaker Sarah Strong is offering holiday-themed workshops at her Strong Heart Press & Studio, 143 1/2 E. Limestone Street. Workshop participants will create pocket journals on Friday, Dec. 9, and ornaments on Saturday, Dec. 10, both at 9:30 a.m. to noon. For information, contact Strong at 317-525-1785. The studio is also open for holiday shopping Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., through Dec. 19.
