  • Bulldog Sports Round-up

    The Yellow Springs High School girls soccer team lost 3–0 to Miami Valley on Saturday, Aug. 29, and then fell hard at 9–0 against Tecumseh on Monday, Aug. 31. The scores did not tell the whole story, however, and Monday’s game appeared more balanced than Saturday’s. The girls start their season off 0–2.

  • Youth soccer begins

    Registration for Yellow Springs Youth Recreational Soccer League begins Saturday, Aug. 29, 10:30–11:45 a.m. at the newly renovated Morgan Fields north of the Yellow Springs High School football stadium. Players and their parents/guardians are strongly encouraged to attend. Participants who are unable to attend are asked to call the coordinator for the appropriate age group listed below for registration forms.

  • Golf team 1–6

    The Yellow Springs High School golf team fell behind in a tri-match at home at Locust Hills Golf Course on Monday, Aug. 24, and also lost to Bethel on Tuesday, Aug. 18. The Bulldogs’ season record is 1–6, and the team is 0–4 in the Metro Buckeye Conference.

  • Running Events

    The 24th Annual Village Fun Run will be this Sunday evening, Aug. 23. The annual 2-mile jaunt around town for all runners, joggers and walkers will begin at 6:30 p.m. Registration will start at 5:30 p.m.

  • Soccer notices

    The annual Yellow Springs High School girls and boys alumni soccer game will be played Friday, Aug. 21, at the high school game field. The girls will play first at 5:30 p.m., followed by the boys at 7:30 p.m.

  • Track club excels

    Ten athletes from the Miami Valley Track Club traveled to Greensboro, N.C., last week to compete in the USA Junior Olympic Track & Field championships. Five came home as All Americans, having finished in the top eight in the nation in their events.

  • Summer open gym for girls basketball players

    The McKinney School and Yellow Springs High School girls basketball program is offering open gym sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 4 to 6 p.m. The sessions are open to any middle and high school girls interested in playing basketball. Players or parents with questions can contact Coach Duncan Thomas at 937-580-0152.

  • Youth KTC basketball open gym for girls

    The Yellow Springs Youth KTC Select girls basketball program offers open gyms on Wednesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Bryan Community Center.
