A children’s book that started as an improvised story to entertain a 10-year-old girl on a row boat named Alice is being staged by children of the Antioch School.
On April 22, Antioch School’s Younger Group opened their stores on the Bryan Center lawn, where they small toys, clothes and snacks for sale using Antioch play money.

The Antioch School will get a little greener this year, thanks to efforts from its students and from recent grants that the school has received in order to expand its garden.
This weekend the Antioch School will perform “The Jungle Book,” its annual spring musical, at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 25 and 26, at the Clifton Opera House.
It was chance that brought former Saturday Night Live comedian Julia Sweeney to Yellow Springs two years ago to perform for the Antioch School’s fundraiser gala.
The Antioch School has always encouraged the musician in students interested in developing their skills and talents. This year the Antioch School formalized its music program by inviting artist-in-residence Dennis Farmer to start an introductory program during a year-long residency.
The Antioch School fundraiser Anything on Wheels, originally scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 6, has been re-scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 13, to accommodate repairs being made to the Little Miami Scenic Trail.
