Mayer and friends play for Presbyterian Church

Recent Northern Illinois University graduate Brian Mayer brought a group of fellow musicians to town for “A Summer Spectacular” performance at the Presbyterian Church on Saturday evening. The friends shared their talents on the French horn, natural horn, trombone, piano, English horn and euphonium, in addition to the vocal skills of Dayton area soprano Minnita Daniel-Cox. They played to an appreciative audience in a stiflingly hot sanctuary to raise money for the church Mayer grew up in. Listen below for concert excerpts.

  • Brian Mayer and Van Parker, natural horns, with May Hwang, piano
  • Dan Mueller, trombone, with Mary Hwang, piano
  • Van Parker, horn, with Mary Hwang, piano
  • Minnita Daniel-Cox, soprano, with Beverly Logan, piano

If you missed this concert, you really missed OUT— A VERY pleasurable evening with VERY talented folks!!! Yes, it was also very hot, but we all stayed because we didn’t want to miss anything! Kudos to Brian for a wonderful idea to fundraise for the Church. He is a talented and wonderful young man! BRAVO to ALL!
