Sign-up for Minor League ball to end
- Published: May 22, 2008
Final registration for the 2008 Yellow Springs Minor League Youth Baseball program will be held on Saturday, May 24, from 1 to 3 p.m., at Gaunt Park. Boys and girls ages 7 to 11 are eligible to participate as long as they will not have turned 12 by July 31.
This is a coach-pitch league and no experience is necessary. Fees are $25 per child, and $15 for each additional player for those families with more than one player. Each player, including returning players, must have a registration form signed by a parent or guardian. Returning players can also pick up and drop off forms at 236 North High Street or find forms at http://ysoyouthbb.teamopolis.com .
The season will begin just after school lets out for summer, and will run through mid-July. Teams usually play two games per week, which are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings as well as Saturday mornings at the minor league field on the far east side of Gaunt Park. Additional coaches may be needed this year due to the potential number of players. Anyone with an interest in volunteering or with any questions about the program in general can contact Tim or Jennifer Sherwood at 767-8702 or sherwt@woh.rr.com .
