Dinner fetes soccer
Yellow Springs Soccer, Inc. will hold a community potluck on Saturday, Nov. 6, 7–9 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. The potluck will celebrate over 45 years of recreational soccer and honor Duke Conrad and Shirley Kristensen for their contributions to women’s soccer in Yellow Springs. Current and former players, referees, coaches and their families are encouraged to attend. Those planning to attend should bring a dish to share and table service for each person.
Interested persons with memorabilia, including photos, video and newspaper articles of girls’ participation in local soccer, for inclusion in the evening’s events, should contact Sarah Wallis at 206-0843 or yellowspringssoccerinc@gmail.com by Oct. 24. Those who would like to help with the event may contact Jocelyn Hardman at 767-2200 or yellowspringssoccerinc@gmail.com . Community service hours will be granted to students who help.
Join the Crickets
The Crickets basketball program for first–third grade students begins Friday, Nov. 5. Six sessions will be held in the Bryan Center gym, 6–7 p.m., ending Dec. 17. The sessions will focus on fundamentals and will consist of drills and informal scrimmage games. Interested players may register at the beginning of the first session they attend, and are encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible. Registration is free and donations are accepted.
