Prudence Jane Deeter

Prudence Jane Deeter, of Hillsboro, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the Highland District Hospital. She was 78.
Prudence Jane was born in Dayton on July 27, 1936, the daughter of the late Leroy and Prudence Ann (Pennington) Loe. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James Edward Deeter, who died on Oct. 3, 2007; daughter Johna Maria Roberts; four brothers, three grandchildren, Cody Deeter, Garth Snyder and Tara Gillespie; and one great-grandchild.
Prudence Jane was a member of the Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons Lester Leroy (Marsha) Deeter of Hillsboro and James Edward, Jr. (Colena) Deeter of Hillsboro; daughters Ruth Irene Deeter of Rainsboro, Janet (Mike) Simons of Sardinia, Ohio, and Prudence (Dan) Fisher of Hillsboro; sister Caroline Tatem of Flagstaff, Ariz.; son-in-Law Buck Roberts of Fountain, Colo.; 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday Dec. 8, at the Thompson Funeral Home, with Dr. Dan Lamb officiating. Burial followed at Gilboa Cemetery in Greenfield, Ohio.
