9/11 Memorial Stair Climb registration open
- Published: June 23, 2018
The fifth annual Yellow Springs 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is scheduled Saturday, Sept. 8, in Antioch College’s historic Antioch Hall.
Each year, participants climb the equivalent of 110 stories, paying tribute to firefighters and police officers who died on 9/11 by carrying a card with the fallen first-responder’s picture and name. The event is not a race, and both individuals and teams participate.
Registration is $35 and includes lunch, snacks and a T-shirt. The fee increases to $40 at the end of August. Nonclimbers can support the effort by sponsoring participants or making a donation. Proceeds benefit the nonprofit National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
The local event is part of a national network of 9/11 Stair Climbs. For more information about the effort, go online to: http://www.firehero.org/events/9-11-stair-climbs/.
