Sea Dogs win, break records

The Yellow Springs Aquatic Club — a.k.a. Sea Dogs — soundly defeated the Champaign Family YMCA (Urbana) Flying Fish 481 to 113 at a home meet on Thursday, June 28. Seven team records were broken. 

Scotty Einink broke the record for 6 years of age and under 25-meter backstroke with a time of 32.31 seconds and the 6 years of age and under 25-meter freestyle with a time of 28.13 seconds. Brooklyn Talley broke the 8 years of age and under 25-meter butterfly record with a time of 21.63 seconds and the 8 years of age and under 25-meter freestyle record with a time of 19.38 seconds. 

Eden Spriggs broke the girls 15–18 years of age 50-meter butterfly record with a time of 34.94 seconds. Spriggs, Natalie Galarza, Lexi Noble and Abby Graver broke the girls 15–18 years of age medley relay with a time of 2 minutes 29.22 seconds and the girls 15–18 years of age freestyle relay with a time of 2 minutes 8.91 seconds. 

Many personal bests were also set at this meet: Katie Quigley dropped 6.17 seconds from her 50-meter freestyle; Elliette Sieley dropped 22 seconds from her 25-meter backstroke; Jillian Resch-Given dropped 5.25 seconds from her 25-meter back stroke; Izzy Speck dropped 11.98 seconds from her 50-meter backstroke; Brynnlee Ball dropped 11.33 seconds from her 25-meter breaststroke; Elijah Kampman dropped 11.81 seconds from his 50-meter breast stroke; DJ Jones dropped 22 seconds from her 25-meter freestyle; and Danielle Calloway dropped 51 seconds from her 25-meter freestyle.
