YSHS girls soccer team to host ‘Pink Out’
- Published: October 2, 2019
The Yellow Springs High School girls soccer team will host a “Pink Out” event Saturday, Oct. 5, at the high school stadium to raise funds and awareness for women’s health issues.
The event kicks off with a girls team matchup against Franklin Monroe at 3:30 p.m. The boys junior varsity and varsity soccer squads are scheduled then to play against Fairborn, at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m., respectively.
Donations from the event will benefit the Bright Pink organization. The nonprofit group seeks to save women’s lives from breast and ovarian cancer by changing the conversation from cancer to health. The group also works to create a movement of women advocating for their own health, starting with girls and young women.
Community members are invited to donate to the cause online at fundraise.brightpink.org/YSBulldogs and to attend the event wearing pink. Funds also will be raised via a 50/50 raffle and concessions sales at the event. All girls on a YSSI youth recreational soccer league team dressed in pink will be admitted free; all other admission is $6 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and $1 for students.
