Chamber Music in Yellow Springs, or CMYS, will open its 41st season Sunday, Sept. 29, with a 4 p.m. performance by Trio Zimbalist at Antioch University Midwest.

What was previously a continuation of the grassy perimeter around the pond, the new native prairie — stretching across 4,500 square feet in the northern reaches of Ellis Park — is now a dappled patchwork of milkweed, aster, ironweed, coneflowers and other native flowers. 

At press time, the YSHS boys team remains tied with rivals Dayton Christian this week, but now for second place, as Legacy Christian moves into first. The team’s overall season record is 5–2–1.

Brother Richard I. Brown, of Xenia, Ohio, passed away after a short illness on Sept. 15, 2024.

Julie A. Sine, age 76, of Yellow Springs, passed away peacefully on Sept. 16, 2024. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on Sept. 22, 1947, the daughter of Raymond and Mary (Zuvella) Sine.
