  • Addendum: Request for Proposal: Lighting Conversion or Retrofit

    The Village of Yellow Springs issued a Request for Proposal (“RFP”) for the acquisition and installation of a village wide street lighting conversion or retrofit through the use of Induction Lighting on September 17, 2010. Due to a number of questions from potential bidders, this Addendum is being issued to clarify what the Village is looking to purchase.

  • Sonja Reed memorial

    A graveside service for Sonja Reed will be held on Saturday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Yellow Springs. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45420.

  • John Magee

    John L. Magee died of a brief illness Wednesday, Sept. 8, at Friends Care Center. He was 90. He was given comfort in his final days by Heartland Hospice as well as his dedicated caregivers at Friends Care.

  • Bulldog Sports Round-up

    Senior Nerak Patterson was the first Bulldog to cross the finish line at the YSHS track and field Friendship Invitational held in Cedarville on Saturday. Patterson, who skipped running last fall to help out the football team, ran his fastest time in almost three years while placing 35th overall out of 194 finishers.

  • Gym open for basketball

    The Yellow Springs High School boys basketball program will host open gym sessions beginning at 7 p.m. through October. The Tuesday session will be held at the Bryan Community Center, and on Wednesdays it will be at the YSHS gym.

  • Jean Huston memorial

    A memorial service for Jean Huston will be held Saturday, Nov. 13, 2 p.m., at the Glen Helen Building. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Yellow Springs Community Foundation or the Glen Helen Association.

    The Village of Yellow Springs is issuing a Request for Proposal (“RFP”) for the acquisition and installation of a village wide street lighting conversion or retrofit through the use of Induction Lighting to reduce energy usage and overall maintenance costs associated with operation of street lighting.

  • Ordinance 2010-17: Amending Ordinance on Economic Sustainability Commission

    Interested persons will take note that the Village Council of Yellow Springs on Monday, September 20, 2010, gave first reading to an ordinance, text to follow. Council will consider said ordinance for second reading and possible passage into law during a public hearing to begin at 7 p.m. Monday, October 4, 2010 in the Bryan Community Center, 100 Dayton Street.

  • Bulldog Sports Round-up

    On Wednesday, Sept. 8, the golf team hosted Bethel at Locust Hills golf course in Springfield. The team drove, chipped and putted their way through the course on a beautiful early fall day, ultimately losing the match by a score of 172–211.
