Summer open gym for girls basketball players
The McKinney School and Yellow Springs High School girls basketball program is offering open gym sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 4 to 6 p.m. The sessions are open to any middle and high school girls interested in playing basketball. Hammon Dameron
Hammon Dameron Jr. of Yellow Springs, and formerly a resident of Salt Lick, Ky., died Sunday, July 19 at Friends Care Center in Yellow Springs after an extended illness. He was 75.

Douglas Huff
Douglas Huff died Tuesday, July 21, at Greene Memorial Hospital, after an six-month illness. He was 57. Doug worked at several places in Yellow Springs, including the Variety Store until it closed, Weaver’s/Tom’s Market and the Antioch School.

Dianne Harris
Dianne M. Harris of Yellow Springs, died Wednesday morning, July 22, at Community Hospital in Springfield. She was 61.

Petronella Benton
Petronella Cornelia Maria Benton, a former resident of Yellow Springs, died after a short illness at her home in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on July 19. She was 68.

What are Friends for?
11 local young musicians will perform this Saturday, July 25, at 7:30 p.m. at Mills Lawn gym, as part of the annual Friends Music Camp concert in Yellow Springs. The event is a fundraiser for Glen Helen.
