  • Celebrate the Fourth in the village

    The annual Independence Day festivities will take place Thursday, July 4.

    The annual Fourth of July parade starts Saturday, July 4, at 3 p.m. at Friend’s Care Center, with the evening fireworks later that night at 9:30 p.m.

    Warning signs pop up on local lawns each spring as local residents contract with companies to treat their lawns with chemical pesticides and fertilizers for the season.

  • First phase of Skate Park renovations to be unveiled

    On Saturday, June 13, noon–5 p.m., during Street Fair, the Village of Yellow Springs will unveil its first phase of upgrades to the Skate Park at the John Bryan Community Center.

  • Local Boy Scouts host epic Pinewood Derby

    More than 25 kids raced their homemade cars in the Yellow Springs Cub Scout Pack’s inaugural Pinewood Derby.

  • Fireworks set for this Saturday

    The annual Independence Day festivities will take place Thursday, July 4.

    The annual Fourth of July fireworks, postponed this year due to bad weather, will take place this Saturday, Aug. 31, at 9 p.m. at Gaunt Park.

  • Swimming pool opens Friday

    The Gaunt Park pool will open on Friday, June 21, at its regular time after water samples taken after an overuse of herbicides in the pool area came back with no evidence of contamination.

  • Pool temporarily closed

    On June 12, 2013, the Village staff applied an herbicide to the clover in the grassy area around the pool, forcing closure.
