According to the Village of Yellow Springs:
The Yellow Springs Pool is temporarily closed. On Wednesday morning, June 12, 2013, the Village staff applied an herbicide to the clover in the grassy area around the pool. There is the possibility of some contamination from the herbicide product called Escalade 2.
The health effects of this product and its application on this property are under review. We are closing the pool in order to perform further review. We do not have any indication of a health hazard. However, persons who have questions about this product or its effects should contact Poison Control (Prosar-Toxicology) at 1-888-884-7330. The Greene County Combined Health District has been and will continue to assist in the Village’s review.
Miami Township Fire and Rescue have not had any reports of illness related to the use of this herbicide on June 14, 2013, at the Yellow Springs Pool.
