Marcus “Markie” Harding Sr. of Cedarville, died at home on Sunday, July 10, after a brief illness. He was 56.

Markie was born on Jan. 24, 1955 to Howard and Frances Harding. Markie retired from Vernay Laboratories after 28 years of service and most recently worked at Wilberforce University. Markie loved the outdoors, especially mushroom hunting in the spring, road farming and fishing. The family wishes to extend thanks and appreciation to Hospice of Dayton, Dr. Mark Collins and his staff for their care, compassion and support.

Markie was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents and a sister, Marla. Markie is survived by his mother, his wife, Lori, and his son, Marcus, Jr. He is also survived by his brothers James (Joyce) Harding, Gary (Angie) Harding and his sisters Karen (Kenny) Carr, Sharon (Doug) Roberson, his brother-in-law Steve Groves and sisters-in-law Shannon Groves and Lisa (Tim) Kniffin. Also surviving are numerous other family members and many great friends. Markie will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 14, at Massie Creek Cemetery in Cedarville, with Pastor David Graham officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to service also at the cemetery.
