A 25-year old Xenia woman was rescued from the side of a creek in John Bryan State Park after a small fall. Miami Township Fire-Rescue personnel were dispatched at 5:12 p.m. Tuesday, April 3.

The woman had been walking along a stone creek bed when she lost her footing and fell, injuring her knee. The woman fell alongside the Cincinnati-Pittsburgh Stagecoach Trail near the Little Miami River. Paramedics located the patient after a half hour search and began treating her injuries while other Miami Township Fire-Rescue personnel brought in additional equipment. The patient was removed from the area in a rescue basket.

The rescue lasted just over one hour and the patient was transported in stable condition to the trauma center at Greene Memorial Hospital. The patient suffered injury to her right knee in the fall. Miami Township Fire-Rescue Chief Colin Altman reminds the public that leaving marked trails in the park is prohibited.
