Patricia ‘Pat’ White

Patricia “Pat” White of Yellow Springs passed on Jan. 9 at Friends Care Community, where she had been a resident for several months. She was 63.

Pat was born Sept. 1, 1950 in Mobile, Ala., the daughter of John Palmer Jr. and Nelwyn R. Palmer. She graduated from Indian Hill High School in Cincinnati. Pat attended the California School of Arts. She later met and married her loving husband, John White, a professor at Antioch College in Yellow Springs. She was employed at Yellow Springs Community Children’s Center.

Pat sold sand paintings at Village Artisans, worked in the activities department at Friends Care Community and as a patient care aide at the Assistant Living Unit, volunteered at the Yellow Springs Senior Citizens Center and worked as a caregiver for her dear friend, Rev. Brenda Freeman’s two brothers until her health failed.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She leaves to cherish her memories with love her son, Cory White, Cincinnati; four step-sons, David K. (Kelly) White of Portland, Ore., Paul F. White and Mark A. (Leslie) White of Duluth, Minn, and John F. White III of Yellow Springs; two brothers, Richard (Dutch) Palmer and Mark Palmer; two sisters, Susie Palmer Powell and Angie Palmer; five grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and friends. A service for Patricia White will be held Thursday, Jan. 16 at Central Chapel AME Church in Yellow Springs. Visitation will be at 11 a.m., followed by services at noon with Rev. Brenda Freeman Officiating. Interment will follow at Glen Forest Cemetery.
