Epic book event for midwives and mothers

A book event featuring three local authors of books for midwives and mothers will be at the Epic Book Shop, 229 Xenia Ave., Yellow Springs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12.
The authors are Cindy Farley, a midwife and associate professor of nursing at Georgetown University and author of “Clinical Practice: Guidelines for Midwifery and Women’s Health” and “Prenatal and Postnatal Care: A Woman-Centered Approach;” Linda J. Smith, a lactation consultant and author of “Sweet Sleep,” “Impact of Birthing Practices on Breastfeeding: Second Edition,” Comprehensive Lactation Consultant exam Review,” “Coaches Notebook: Games and Strategies for Lactation Education,” and “The Lactation Consultant in Private Practice: The ABCs of Getting Started; and Brenda Joy Hensler, midwife and author of “Catching Joy: Stories of an Ohio Midwife.”
Attendees are invited to bring their prenatal care questions, birth stories and breastfeeding experience to share.
