All are invited to join the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, or RTC, on Saturday, Oct. 17, as the Midwest Regional Office of RTC is officially relocated to Yellow Springs. RTC’s Yellow Springs office will be the hub for trails, walking and biking advocacy and initiatives in Ohio and throughout the Midwest. RTC and partners will highlight the great strides that are being made with active transportation in the region, including current efforts at trail expansion. The Little Miami Scenic Trail, an RTC Rail-Trail Hall of Fame designee, passes through Yellow Springs within blocks of the new office.

The event begins at 11 a.m. at the Little Art Theatre, with movies highlighting RTC’s history. Before and after the films, all are encouraged to walk or bike around town. From 1–4 p.m., the Professional Building, located at 716 Xenia Ave., will host an open house, collaborating with the local health community and regional environmental groups. The event is free and family-friendly, and will feature, food, informational booths and more. Attendees will also enjoy giveaways, including bike helmets, T-shirts, bags, trail guides, maps and other trail-friendly items. To RSVP, email Brian Housh at brianh@railstotrails.org.
