Village homes to be featured in national solar tour
- Published: October 1, 2010
Four homes in Yellow Springs homes are being featured Saturday, Oct. 2, and Sunday, Oct. 3, as part of the national solar home tour, including two new listings.
A total of 240 green businesses and residences are participating in Ohio’s tour this year. The four local houses utilize solar and wind power, energy-efficient building design, local renewable construction materials, water conservation and more.
Two homes are new to the tour, including Pat Brown’s on Stewart Drive, which this summer became the first residence within the Yellow Springs municipal electric system to install grid-tied solar photovoltaic panels. Read more here: Solar pioneer paving the way
Also newly joining the tour are Andrew and Anisa Kline, showcasing their nearly-complete Passive House on Dayton Street, which they hope will be the first certified Passive House in Ohio. Read more here: Passive House is an active goal
