Yellow Springs bus travels for music

Bus excursions to the Dayton Philharmonic and Springfield Symphony, a 36-year village tradition, will continue this year, with a few changes. The packages are six-concert subscriptions with discounted group ticket rates, and includes transportation to and from the concert vis a Yellow Springs school bus. The bus departs from the YSHS parking lot at 7 p.m. and returns around 11 p.m. The excursions include six trips to see the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra in economy seating on Sept. 26, Nov. 1, Jan. 9, Feb. 6, Mar. 28 and May 16. The adult ticket package for all shows is $95. Unlike in previous years, the package does not include a free opera ticket, but a second package in now being offered, which includes all six shows in better seats, plus and opera, for $135.

Music lovers of any age can also purchase a six-concert package to see the Springfield Symphony Orchestra on Oct. 12, Nov. 9, Jan. 4, Feb. 22, March 22 and April 26 for $95. Seats are near the front of the mezzanine.

Checks should be maybe payable to YSYOA, which is glad to accept donations. Subscribers who already have their tickets may ride the bus for $5, and students may ride the bus free and purchase tickets at the box office for $10.
