Free healing drum workshop for women

A free workshop exploring percussion, song, and circle as a healing force for self and community will be offered this weekend.The introductory session of a new class, Healing Drum and Song For Women, will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, March 27, at Casa De Paz, 1315 Corry Street, Yellow Springs.
Taught by Nicole Manieri, the event will feature a mixture of basic skill-building in percussion, learning healing song and free form movement. It is an introductory session for a 6-week series beginning Tuesday, April 7, and kicks off Saturday’s: Restoryative Somatics Spring Retreat for Women. That retreat will include facilitated process work, ritual role play and other practices to help participants encounter the “Fierce Feminine Wild Creative Nature” within themselves, as reflected in one another.
The drum series does not focus heavily on technique but on the heart of expression. All who feel the call can come. Beginners welcome. Bring your drums! The event is offered as part of the Kula Cooperative. For more information, contact Manieri at intothedarkforest@gmail.com, 937-902-2024.
