Cincinnati-based artist Shinji Turner-Yamamoto will be in residence at Antioch College this summer, and will present a collaborative, interdisciplinary exploration of humans’ relationship with and in nature.
Titled “De Rerum Natura: On the Nature of Things,” the exhibition features a site-specific installation created in the Herndon Gallery in the past week, along with recent works created during a residency in Ireland and two sound pieces created in the Pacific Northwest.
The exhibit will open at Herndon Gallery next Thursday, July 7, with a reception from 7 to 9 p.m. and an artist talk at 7:30 p.m.
“His work is very spare, very minimal and reflective,” Herndon Gallery Creative Director Jennifer Wenker said of the artist.
