An art-full weekend

Five art shows are opening at different locations around Yellow Springs this weekend, featuring paintings, prints, drawings, ceramics, photographs and papier-mâché sculptures. Here’s the round-up:

Friday, Sept. 16

“Figments of the Imagination,” featuring works by Margrit Tydings-Petrie at the Senior Center. Opening reception 4–7 p.m. Show on display through Oct. 30.

Works by printmaker Kathryn Pitstick and ceramicist Nicki Strouss at Village Artisans Gallery. Artist reception 6–9 p.m. Show on display through Sept. 30.

“Shared Views,” featuring paintings by Sherraid Scott and Sigalia C. Cannon at the YS Arts Council Gallery. Artist reception 6–9 p.m. Show on display through Oct. 16.

Sunday, Sept. 18

Photographs and papier-mâché sculptures by Aimee Maychack at the YS Brewery. Artist reception 2–4 pm. Show on display through Oct. 9

“Migrations,” fine art by Penelope S. Adamson and Cathy Ledeker at the Winds Cafe. Opening reception 5–7 p.m. Show on display through October.
