YS Council seeks input on goals

As Yellow Springs Village Council considers setting goals for the coming year, council members are asking for input from the community.

Village leaders are using a variety of methods to solicit feedback. Council President Brian Housh posted this week on Facebook that “[t]he Village is exploring new ways to engage citizens in local government decision making.”

One of those ways is via Facebook, with the introduction last month of a new Facebook group  — VillageYS — “designed to facilitate interaction with Village of Yellow Springs citizens,” according to the public group’s stated description.

Council also has created an online survey, through the SurveyMonkey platform, to help residents weigh in on potential goals under consideration. The survey can be accessed at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2VDHFTP.

What’s more, according to Housh, the Village is also placing boxes with comment cards located at various locations in town, including Tom’s Market, the Emporium, Yellow Springs Senior Center, Yellow Springs Library and Bryan Center.
