Celebrate YS Pride

The annual local celebration, YS Pride, will be this Saturday, June 30, with a free festival from noon to 5 p.m. behind Peach’s Grill featuring music, food and vendors.
At 5 p.m., a community parade through town begins at Peach’s parking lot before heading downtown. Then, at 6 p.m., a free documentary film screening about the Dayton-based Rubi Girls drag performance troupe will feature a discussion with members of the group, at the Little Art Theatre.
The festivities continue at Peach’s where at 9 p.m. Soul Fire Tribe will spin fire and the Rubi Girls take the stage for their performance at 10 p.m.
The day’s schedule follows:
12PM: Kyleen Downes Band
1PM: Dayton Gay Mens Chorus small group ensemble
1:30PM: Jackie O and Sierra
2PM: Punchdrunk Tagalongs
3PM: Ohio Brass & Electric
5PM: Parade!!
6PM: Meet The Rubi Girls! Rubi Girl Documentary at the Little Art Theatre
9PM: Soul Fire Tribe (@ Peach’s Grill)
10PM: Rubi Girls @ Peach’s!
Also on Saturday, Yellow Springs Brewery will celebrate “Crafting Truth for Pride” with $1 from every pint sold between 4 and 7 p.m. donated to YS Pride. The Rubi Girls will stop by around 7 p.m. “to enjoy a beer and have some laughs,” according to the brewery’s Facebook page. Yellow Springs Brewery Pride themed T-shirts will also be available with a portion of the proceeds to benefit YS Pride.
