Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Charlotte Battino died on Monday, Dec. 28. She had been under the care of Hospice of Dayton and died peacefully at home with her husband of 61 years, Rubin, and her son, Ben, and his three daughters — Ellie, Lily and Anabel — with her. Earlier, other family members spent much time with her, including her son, David, and his wife Hazuki. Her daughter-in-law, Jill, was with her many times and provided great support.

Charlotte was able to show her concern for others over and over, and family members chatted with her or listened to her talk about her family history. As her husband, Rubin, wrote: “We all grew closer together with this remarkable woman who I adored and appreciated and admired. The love showed in our family for each other was extraordinary and sustaining and continues.”

As per her wishes, Charlotte will be cremated. A full obituary is planned for an upcoming issue, and the family aims to hold a celebration of life memorial service for Charlotte when it is safe to gather again.
