“Our stove is an extra-large, catalytic, woodburning Dutchwest stove made by Vermont Castings. It has a checkered past and people either love them or hate them.”

At approximately 4 a.m., several area firefighter and EMS crews were dispatched to W. North College St. to battle the blaze that broke out in the complex’s northwest building, which contains eight rental units. 

At Gaunt Park, crews entered their second month of working on the Village’s 63-foot-tall, 900,000-gallon water tower.

The “Black Women of Yellow Springs” tour will be presented Saturday, Aug. 12, and “Black Food Traditions of Yellow Springs” will take place Saturday, Aug. 26.

Walking to the diamond adjoining the T-ball diamond Friday, July 21, to begin the field preparation process, we noticed a doe and two fawns frolicking in the open field.

Paul Graham, a beloved, respected, active member of the community, who provided many decades of dynamic leadership to the village of Yellow Springs, died July 24. He was 94.

Roy K. Smith, age 88, of Yellow Springs, passed away Friday, July 28, 2023. A resident of Yellow Springs since 1995, he was born in Morgan County, Ohio, in 1935, the son of the late Marion Dana and Mary Hazel (Johnson) Smith.
