Kringlin’ and minglin’

On Saturday evening, Dec. 2, jolly ol’ Saint Nick took a break from what is ostensibly the busiest time of his year to pay Yellow Springs an early visit.

Opting for a lift from a Miami Township Fire-Rescue firetruck over his usual mode of reindeer-based transportation, Kris Kringle arrived at the corner of Limestone Street and Xenia Avenue to lead scores of villagers in counting down to the lighting of the Yellow Springs holiday tree.

Once the pine erupted in its festive colors and the cheers died down, attendees momentarily put down their candy canes and hot cocoa to join the World House Choir and young vocalists from the village schools in song.
