  • Girls softball finds first win

    On Friday the YSHS girls softball team creamed Ponitz 18–5 for its first win of the season. The previous week they fell short on a late rally at Meadowdale.

    Four years ago the Yellow Springs High School softball team was unable to field a team due to lack of numbers. Times have changed, and this year there are 15 players on the roster.

    In their home opener, the YSHS softball team mounted a late-inning rally but lost 17–7.

    Yellow Springs High School finished fifth at the annual Versailles Track & Field Boys Invitational on Saturday, April 4. The Bulldogs scored 66 points. Minster won with 185.

    The Yellow Springs High School softball team lost the opening game against Cedarville 17–3 on Monday, March 30. Katie Triplett drove two hits early on in the game, both of which were scored by Rachel Trumbull.

    Rain hampered much of the Bulldog baseball team’s late-season games last week, but allowed Yellow Springs a 7–6 win against Troy Christian on Monday, May 5, to make up for a 5–0 loss to the same team the preceding Thursday, May 1.
