  • Elizabeth Huber

    Elizabeth Devin Parker (Betsy) Huber died Nov. 9, at the Friends Care Center in Yellow Springs, Ohio. She was 87. Born on July 7, 1921, in Boston, Mass., she was the daughter of Willard S. Parker, M.D. and Ellen D. Pratt, both from Ohio, and the older sister of Mary Dorsey Parker Krulee.

  • Jean and Dick DeWine

    Jean Ruth (Liddle) DeWine died on Oct. 28, 2008, at home in Yellow Springs. She was 83 years old. Her husband of 65 years, Richard Lee DeWine, died shortly after on Saturday, Nov. 1, also at their home. He was 85 years old.

  • Ann S. Harris

    Ann S. Harris of Yellow Springs passed away Thursday, Oct. 16. She was 61. She attended Antioch College and was the owner of her own small publishing business. She was an avid volley ball player on several senior leagues, and loved animals, reading, and gardening.

  • Dorothy Clark

    Dorothy J. Clark, beloved mother, grandmother and aunt, passed away Oct. 23, after a sudden onset of multiple complications. She was 82. Born in Portsmouth, Ohio, on Feb. 26, 1926, Dorothy received her bachelors degree in education from Wittenburg University.

    Up out of the Mississippi Delta in and around Bluesman BB King territory, David Lamont Landes was born in 1941. His parents, Art and Margaret Landes, worked as organizers on the Delta Cooperative Farm in Clarksdale, (Coahoma County) Miss….

  • Max R. Pitstick

    Max R. Pitstick, of Xenia, passed away Oct. 14 at his home. He was 78. He was born April 29, 1930, in Jamestown, the son of Raymond and Gertrude (Bittner) Pitstick.

  • Cinda L. Mize

    Cinda L. Mize died at Friends Care Center on Tuesday, Oct. 7. She was 70. Cinda was born in Bogulusa, La., on Nov. 18, 1938, to Genevieve King Mize and Louis Aaron Mize. Growing up as a Navy brat, her childhood was spent on naval bases on the U.S. coasts.

  • Patricia Waggoner

    Patricia Waggoner, most recently of Brimfield, Mass., died on Sept. 12 in an auto accident. She was 63. Patty hailed from Dayton, graduating from Oakwood High School and attending Antioch University from 1971-1976. That’s when many of us in Yellow Springs became her friend.

  • Mary Doyle

    Mary Louise Doyle passed away at her home in Xenia on August 26. She was 54. She had been preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Virginia Doyle.

  • L. Shelbert Smith

    L. Shelbert Smith, Ph.D., of Yellow Springs died on Monday, Sept. 29, in Springfield Regional Hospital. Shelbert was the second of two children born to the union of L. Shelbert and Hazel Tucker Smith, in Springfield, Ill.
