    Rick Caslin, loving son of Teresa and the late George Caslin, died Sunday, May 18. He was 59. Rick fought a valiant battle against acute promyelocytic leukemia.

  • Michael Cowen

    Michael Lee “Mikey” Cowen of Fairborn, formerly of Yellow Springs, died at 6:20 a.m., Saturday, May 17, in Kettering Medical Center. He was 30. He was born August 11, 1977, in Cincinnati, a son of Albert H. Cowen and Karen Woodmansee-Cowen.

  • Celebration in memory of the life of Ellie Dale

    Ellie Dale’s family will hold a celebration of her life at the Friends Care Center on Saturday, May 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. Any who wish to join in are welcome. Anyone with a story to tell about Ellie is welcome to share it.

  • Juanita Pettit

    Juanita Marie Pettit of Yellow Springs died at Greene Memorial Hospital on Saturday, May 10. She was 77. She was the only child born to Harry E. and Margaret Brandt on Sept. 5, 1930.

  • Jacqueline Greene

    Jacqueline (Jackie) D. Greene died suddenly on May 12. She was 57. She was born March 3, 1951, to John and Hazel Barton. Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Greene; a brother, Howard Barton; and her parents.

    Richard Quinn Praeger, formerly of New York City, Paris and San Francisco, died on April 22, in Yellow Springs, where he resided since 2006. He was 83.

  • Gwyneth Ishihara

    Gwyneth B. (Jones) Ishihara of Yellow Springs died Tuesday, April 8. She was 80. She was born Nov. 16, 1927, a daughter of Tudor and Lily Jones in Kobe, Japan.

    Harold Benson-Jerry (Pikey) Blackwell Sr., Yellow Springs, died on Thursday, April 17, in Community Hospital, Springfield, Ohio. He was 81.

  • Gwyneth B. Ishihara

    Gwyneth B. Ishihara of Yellow Springs died Tuesday, April 8. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 27, in the First Presbyterian Church, Yellow Springs.

  • Betty O’Connor

    Betty Jean Bernat O’Connor R.N., B.S.N., died March 21, Good Friday evening. She was a graduate of St. Xavier School of Nursing and the University of Illinois, where she studied both nursing and theater, and worked as a nurse in pediatrics/critical care in Chicago and Los Angeles.
