    When is activism also art?
    For example, Women on Waves, a ship that performs medical abortions outside of the territorial waters of countries where it is illegal, or Project Row Houses, a low-income housing development in Houston where the houses are sometimes canvases for artistic expression.

    Today’s blog showcases a not so over looked corner of downtown, Limestone Street and Xenia Ave. Construction on the new hotel is about to begin and to help hide the mess, Jim Hammond teamed up the Yellow Springs Arts Council and the Yellow Springs Community Foundation to build a temporary art gallery fence.

    New Zealand photographer, educator and researcher Anne Noble will present “From Antarctica to the Honey Bee: In Search of An Ecological Sublime” on Wednesday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m. in McGregor Hall, room 113 on the Antioch College campus.

  • Artist reception at Winds to benefit hospital

    Libby Rudolf paints watercolors, large and small, inspired by the beauty of The Glen Helen Nature Preserve as well as other natural spaces around the country.

    Libby Rudolf’s “Watercolors: Color and Light” reception will be held on Sunday, March 30, 4–6 p.m., at the Winds.
