New family doctor opens Xenia Avenue office
- Published: February 8, 2012
Dr. Alan Fark has 30 years under his belt as a family physician, but he’s new to Yellow Springs. Dr. Fark last week opened his new practice at 716 Xenia Avenue, the former home of the Antioch College Revival Fund. His office is under the umbrella of the Springfield Regional Medical Group, an entity that combines the resources of the two former Springfield hospitals, Mercy Medical Center and Community Hospital.
Formerly in practice in northern Michigan, Dr. Fark was looking for a change of location when he was contacted by a recruiter regarding working in the area for the Springfield Regional Medical Group. While Dr. Fark wasn’t interested in Springfield, he was interested in the possibility of opening an office in Yellow Springs, which he had visited when a college student at Ohio State University and later when he biked through the village. Last week he opened his office, where he will be available to patients on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. He plans to hire a nurse practitioner who will be available other weekdays.
