70 visit local wastewater plant

The Yellow Springs wastewater treatment plant saw a big crowd last Thursday, Oct. 16, when 70 members of the southwest division of the Ohio Water Environment Association attended a meeting in Yellow Springs, held jointly by YSI/Xylem and the wastewater plant. The group consisted of water and wastewater treatment personnel from southwest Ohio, including representatives of the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, or Ohio EPA, and the meeting included a trip to the local wastewater plant for demonstrations.

The event was an honor for the local plant, which recently received the association’s annual award for safety, according to Yellow Springs Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent Joe Bates
