Seidl, Holyoke to receive fall VIDA
- Published: October 17, 2016
Kaethi Seidl and Beth Holyoke are the fall 2016 recipients of the Village Inspiration and Design Award, or VIDA.
In making the award, the Village of Yellow Springs Art and Culture Commission released this statement: “The sculptures and installations of the collaborative duo represent an unsurpassed scope of installations and design achievements around the Village of Yellow Springs. Together, they have created a variety of colorful public works including sculptures, signs, benches and receptacles that combine art and functionality. This utilitarian, highly attractive design realization sets a standard for public art in our village and makes them ideal candidates for the Village Inspiration and Design Award.”
The VIDA is awarded twice annually, and VIDA recipients receive a traveling trophy designed by local sculptor Jon Hudson to display at their residence, design work or business until the next VIDA is awarded.
The award ceremony will take place on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 3pm at the “Springs” sign, located at Dayton-Yellow Springs Road and Limestone Street. All are welcome to join in the celebration.
